Aidan has been working on the various skills required to get mobile recently, and today put them all together for the very first time. Turns out the baby monitor is a powerful motivator!

6 months! My goodness! It's impossible to write this post without a tear or two. Or many if it is me :) Aidan has been a total blessing for us and despite the challenges of being parents, and there have been plenty, we've had so much fun knowing him, seeing him grow and develop, learn and change every day. We are grateful that he is a healthy, happy and sweet baby, and dear to everybody... Happy 6 months my love!
We love you SO much. Thanks for being part of our lives ...
Since we're back from Venezuela Aidan is much better keeping himself sitted and he likes to play in this position. Thanks to this new skill he can enjoy new toys like this cone stacker that our friends Daniel and Carola gave him in their visit to Toronto. However we have to be careful because sometimes he loses his equilibrium and falls to a side or to the back. The few times this has happened he seems to be ok with it and even finds it amusing!
Probably yes!
Today we went to a picnic to Queen’s Park with the very first friends of Aidan: Brayden and Mateo. The 3 of them met from the bellies in our prenatal classes, and so did us the moms: Caroline and Gabriella respectively. It’s been a lot of fun to share every stage of Aidan with Caro and Gabriella and see how the babies can be so different and yet so similar. It’s been also amazing to count with the support of these dedicated mothers during the difficult times. Today for the first time in all of our encounters the babies acknowledge each other and interacted. Maybe they thought the rest of them were toys to grab and chew on like everything else in their world?
Last night Aidan slept through the night for the very first time - 11 hours! This follows one night of sleep training that we were stressed a bit about having to repeat, questioning whether we were doing things right. Fortunately Aidan took any decisions out of our hands when he decided to sleep so well! It's just one night, but we're cautiously optimistic that we're well on our way to good sleeps! Now mommy and daddy need to work on taking advantage of Aidan's sleep - we both woke up numerous times through the night wondering if he was ok, checking the time, wondering if he was ok again. We went to bed at 9 last night to prepare for another sleepless night - turns out we don't need nearly that much sleep to function these days!
After weeks of battling for Aidan to take the bottle with my milk, we finally made it and now he does it every time and with little or most of the times no fight at all. Now it’s even better because he doesn’t need anybody to give it to him, he takes him by himself! Daddy still assists him getting the right angle though...
