He's Growing!
The numbers are in, and Aidan is a growing little boy!
58.5 cm long (53.5 at birth)
38.5 cm head circumference (36 at birth)
4.04 kg (3.54 at birth)
No crying during bathtime!
Not sure if our technique or timing should get the credit, but tonight was Aidan's first bath with no crying. Not expecting a milestone bath (and because it's still a two-person job at this point), there are no pictures of it in progress, but here are a couple of the after shots.
It's an innie!
Aidan's umbilical cord fell off today! He's now just like the rest of us, only smaller. (Don't click to see the second picture if you don't like dried up pieces of human flesh. Daniela made me take the picture!).

He waited for the Grandmas
This one's a little bit out of order, but I'm just now getting to look at some of the first photos I've taken. Aidan's due date was December 5th, but he wasn't ready to come out yet. He arrived a week later: the day after Daniela's mom arrived, and the day before my mom. Both Grandmas and Uncle Rhodri got to visit him in the hospital the very next day.
[Update 2011-01-08] - Missed Grandpa in the original posting, so here's a picture of him and Aidan on New Year's eve. He's got the baby-soothing touch!
Nana and Papa's visit
Today Nana and Papa came to meet Aidan and shower him with some cool new threads. Impressed as he was, he showed his enthusiasm in his typical manner by sleeping the whole time!
Going for a walk
We had an appointment this morning and decided to take the opportunity to make the first family excursion outside the house. We had a great walk, and Daniela and I enjoyed being able to be outside on such a glorious day. Aidan cared somewhat less than us and slept the whole time. :)
First time dressed up
My grandma Norka was concerned about me going out in the cold so I had to bundle up. I still managed to go outside in "bear" feet though!
Welcome, Aidan Alejandro
Aidan Alejandro was born on December 15th at 11:38 pm, weighing in at 7 lbs, 13 oz (3.5 kg) and measuring 21 inches (53.5 cm) long. There was a little excitement surrounding his birth, and Daniela ended up having to deliver via an unexpected Caesarean, but both mom and baby came through with flying colours. If all goes well, we should be able to take Aidan home on Saturday - we're both very excited to show him his room!
