Mother's Day Presents

This past Mother's Day, Aidan and Eliana gave Mommy some super sweet presents that I'd like to document on the blog. Ms. Truong, Aidan's Grade 1 and 2 teacher, told me that Aidan worked very hard on making his ceramic plate. If you look closely, it has a couple of messages in Spanish. Below is a translation of his letter.

Translation:

Dear Mom, Thank you for helping me fall asleep. I like it when we ride our bikes to places like school. Thank you for giving me an allowance every weekend. I like that you always say yes when I negotiate. You are my #1 Mom. I hope you have a fantastic Mother's Day! I love you!! Love, Aidan

Family vacation in Punta Cana

End of April, Eliana's first trip in a plane was to Punta Cana on a family trip with our friends and neighbours: Kyle (Aidan's school friend), Rachel (sister), Scott (dad) and Kelly (mom). We all had a blast. Highlights: our friends company, Caribbean Sea view, the pool, chocolate ice cream every day and the zip line!

Cross Country Meet

Aidan joined the cross country team at school again this year, and a few weeks back was the big meet. Aidan’s age group ran a 1 Km route over sand, trail and boardwalk.

First ice cream cone

This one's been sitting in the draft folder for a while. Earlier in the summer we took Eliana to Ed's Real Scoop to experience her first ice cream cone. To her credit, most of the ice cream ended up in her mouth, but the stroller did need to be washed!

Stacking cups

Eliana is a big fan of repetition. This was probably the fifth time she ran through this sequence. Don't mind the soundtrack - there was a baseball game being played in the living room at the same time! Material for another post :)

First baseball game

We signed Aidan up for a real baseball league this year, and after a number of indoor skills practices he had his first exhibition game recently. He's on the same team as a couple of his friends from school, and the kids all had a blast! Eliana came along to watch, though was less interested in the game than she was is running around all over the place.

Going for a walk

One video in what could have been a series of eight identical ones. The problem comes when she gets to the traffic lights at the end of our street and doesn't want to stop!

Artist baby

Eliana has been creating many art pieces at daycare so she finally could appreciate this Christmas gift that she wasn't understanding too well before. The best part is her admiration of her own work! Wow!
